Young Hospitality Heroes

​Young Hospitality Heroes is an exciting Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative designed to empower disadvantaged youth aged 15 to 19. Over a 12-week journey, participants will complete a nationally recognised Certificate II in Hospitality while building essential employability skills and real-world experience. The program combines hands-on hospitality training with team-building activities, confidence building, and personalised support to help young people smoothly transition into the workforce. Whether it’s mastering customer service, working effectively in a team, or gaining practical café and restaurant skills, Young Hospitality Heroes sets participants on the path to meaningful, long-term employment.

WHAT TO EXPECT
​
What to expect from this FREE PROGRAM
​
  • Complete a Certificate II in hospitality

  • Pre Employment support, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation and more

  • Workplace visits

  • Lunch every day

  • Team building exerices, including “Bounce” and “Story Bridge Climb”.

  • Case management to transition to employment

  • Assistance with referring you through to mental health, housing, drug and alcohol and other community providers to address your support needs.

Training hours: 9:00am-2:30pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week

 

Length: 12 weeks - in classroom, kitchen and employer visits.

 

Location: Myhorizon, 1-15A Runnymede Road Capalaba Qld 4157 and Applied Abilities, Shop C02 Lakeside Shopping Centre, 7 Lakeside Blvd, Victoria Point QLD 4165

 

Cost: This ‘Skilling Queenslanders for Work’ (SQW) project is proudly funded & supported by the Queensland Government. Funding is available for eligible participants. To discuss your eligibility, contact us today.
